The Garces Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 non-profit established for the sole benefit of Garces Memorial High School.  The assets of the Foundation are invested with local investment advisers and managed by a Board of Directors.  The Board meets quarterly to review the investment portfolio and as needed to discuss other relevant matters.  The Board works closely with donors and provides recommendations as needed to help families with planned giving or establishing scholarships. 

The Garces Foundation has grown through the years, and there are now several funds within the Foundation:

  • General Endowment Fund provides annual stream of revenue to support the operating budget of Garces Memorial High School  Gifts to the Foundation that are not specifically designated are deposited into the endowment fund for the future of the school..  The endowment fund was established through a bequest from a local family through their estate.  

  • General Scholarship Fund has several named scholarships for tuition assistance at Garces Memorial High School along with college scholarships for Garces seniors who are attending college in the fall following graduation along with a separate account to provides funds for general tuition assistance.  The scholarships have been set up through various gifting opportunities - outright gifts, bequests, memorial gifts, and estate planning. Each scholarship fund is tracked for investment returns and distributions.  Annual statements are provided to the donors of record.

  • Teacher Endowment Fund provides funds for teacher development to maintain higher learning and teaching standards. The teacher endowment fund was established in 2009 through the Fund the Future Capital Campaign. 

  • Building Fund provides funds for capital improvements and facilities maintenance. Funds held in the Building/Capital Improvements Fund are specifically set aside to assist the school with major projects needed as the physical needs of the school change. It offers an account to set aside money for capital improvements and for families to procure naming rights for supporting capital needs on campus. The fund was established through a bequest from the estate of grandparents of Garces alumni who wanted to show their gratitude for the education and the positive high school experience. their grandchildren received. 

  • The Earl & Jean Leach Endowment Fund was established through a bequest in 2019.  Funds in the account will be used to provide an annual stream of revenue to the school to assist with the annual operating requirements of the school.  

  • The Earl & Jean Leach Memorial Scholarship Fund was established through a bequest in 2019 and will provide four-year partial scholarships to incoming freshmen students who meet the scholarship requirements.
