Establishing a Scholarship
Leaving a Legacy
The Bakersfield Catholic Education Foundation works closely with individuals and families on establishing and endowing scholarships to assist our current families with the cost of tuition at Garces. Enrollment is critical to the long-term success of the school and the Foundation wants to work with individuals and families who have a passion for mission of Garces Memorial and a desire to leave a legacy.
GARCES TUITION ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP MINIMUM
The Foundations asks for a minimum of $25,000 to establish a new Garces tuition assistance scholarship. Funds can be deposited up front or pledged over a period of time.
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP MINIMUM
While the Foundation is established for the benefit of Garces Memorial, the Foundation will manage college scholarships set up exclusively for Garces students. The the minimum is $50,000 and can be deposited up front or pledged over time.
The award criteria for a scholarship is determined by the donor and requires acceptance by the Foundation Board of Directors in order to ensure all IRS non-profit regulations are met. Once the scholarship is in place, any future changes require approval by the Board of Directors. Annual statements are sent to the donors on record.
Estate Planning and Planned Giving are wonderful tools that many of our families have used to establish their scholarships. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us.
